This Is My Story

Once my human brothers and sisters grew up and moved out of the house, my mom and dad decided they didn't want to have anymore pets.  (Can you imagine that!)  They wanted to have the freedom to travel and come and go as they please.  A few years went by, then my dad spotted a little white bunny across the street.  He finally was able to find her.  She was hiding in the neighbor's porch behind a chair.  The people were on vacation and my mom and dad were feeding their cat.  Cat!  Yikes!  They were so afraid the cat might get the bunny.  They brought her home and after a couple days, decided they had to take care of her until she got older so she wouldn't get caught by the cat.  When she (her name was Nibbles) got bigger and older, they decided to let her live down in our shed and let her be free.  It breaks my mom's heart to see animals in cages, and Nibbles would get so excited when she was free.  They didn't think anything would happen to her.  She was fine for a time, then one day she was gone.  My mom cried and cried.  She just loved Nibbles so much.  That is how she just knew she needed me.  My mom and dad talked and decided they needed a pet they could keep in the house and take with them in the car.  They said they wanted a small dog that was friendly and loved people and children and didn't shed.  They knew other people who had dogs like me and so they went out and found me.  They love me so much that they even bought a new RV just so I can go everywhere they go.  Everybody loves me.  They just can't help it.  And I love them too.

How I Got My Name
My mom brought me home when I was about 10 weeks old.  I was a little ball of fur.  She had me on my new leash when my dad came home from work.  He had a big smile on his face.  That's how I knew he loved me right away.  He got out of the truck and the first thing he said was, "So here's the little peanut."  Peanut!  That's my name!  It stuck.  Sometimes they call me Peanut Butter, Furry Face, Cute Face and Baby Boy.  I really have to be flexible!  But I'm happy as long as the names are good and happy names.  (She says I was very easy to potty train too.)

So, anyway, I thought I would share some of my mom's favorite pictures of me with you.  She thinks everyone wants to see them just because she does.  She picked out some of my cutest and funniest pictures.  Hope you like looking at me.

This is me my first day home.
I'm having fun already.		 The floor is so nice and cool.
Hope I don't get stepped on.		 I love to stretch out.
I get the whole love seat to myself.
They say I think the dust mop is my sister.
That's silly.  I just like it here.		 I'm seeing my dad off to work.  It's winter.
Burrrrrrrrrr!  It's dark too.  And snowy.		 I put my ears back to hear better.
My mom thinks it's funny.
I have to guard the neighborhood. 
It's a very important job I have.		 I like being in the driver's seat. 
I'm only allowed here when the RV isn't moving.		 Sometimes I like to get down and dirty.
It's hard being a fancy dog all the time.
Boy, do I love spaghetti!  My mom
has to wash my face after I eat.		 I love to sleep like this.  Some people think
it's funny.  I don't know why.		 I love smelling the flowers mom grows.
I try not to chew them.

Well, that's about it.  I don't want to get too carried away.

WARNING:  My mom wants me to tell everyone who has a pet what happened to me one day.  I like to lay out on the deck and watch the squirrels and birds and chipmunks.  One day I was laying there and my tags dropped between the boards and turned just a little.  I was stuck there.  I was so scared.  My mom heard me cry and came to see what was wrong.  She couldn't figure out why I was "glued" to the deck.  She finally figured it out and released my collar.  Fortunately she noticed right away, and I was also in the shade so I was okay except for being so scared.  My mom cried.  I guess I might have had "my pathetic" look on my face I sometimes get.  My mom says for everyone to make sure the tags can't get below the boards and not to leave your pet on the deck if you aren't home.  Love, Peanut
